Tila Tequila now: She lives a secretive life with her tow daughters and mystery husband

Tila Tequila (real name: Nguyen Thi Thien Thanh) was dubbed the Queen of the now-defunct Myspace. Tequila’s fame on Myspace attracted opportunities in the entertainment industry. She starred in a Bachelor-type reality series in which she was bisexual and had 16 straight men and 16 lesbians vying for her heart. 

Tequila’s apparent addiction to fame became her undoing. After her reality television stint wrapped, she had a brief and woefully unsuccessful stint as a musician. Tila remained relevant through controversy. The list of Tila Tequila’s controversies is freakishly long, but she has toned down over the past year. Let’s look at what Tila Tequila is doing now. 

Plenty of unexpected things have happened over the past couple of years. Tila Tequila dropping off the internet perhaps tops the list. 

Tequila earned her fame via the internet and did all that she could to remain an internet trend. Tila had rebranded to Tornado Thien the last time we saw her on Instagram and YouTube. Fans were worried about her as she posted shocking rants about being a servant of God. 

One of Tila’s notable last actions on the internet was starting a GoFundMe campaign to fund a gospel album. Via a YouTube live stream announcing the project, Tequila stated that a ‘message from up above’ had inspired her return to music. 

“God’s like, ‘Daughter, I want you to go and release an album for me in my kingdom,’” she said. Tila insisted that she had no interest in fame or money and only wanted to fulfill God’s will. She promised an ‘outlandishly foolish and funny’ album that aligned with God’s intentions. 

Tequila set a target of $30,000 but only raised a little over $5,800. Whether due to insufficient funds or whatever other reason, Tequila never released her gospel album. 

She also retreated from the internet for the first time in nearly two decades. We suspect that her principal focus is her young daughters, Isabella and Annabelle, and her mystery husband. 

In late December 2019, Tequila and Isabella’s father, Thomas Whitaker, settled on a custody agreement, ending a prolonged battle for the little girl’s custody. The court granted the pair joint custody, with Tila getting primary physical custody. 

Thomas had accused Tila of child neglect. Tequila responded by calling Thomas a liar and stating that he would receive divine punishment. “How can she be neglected when I stay home with her every day and we live with my parents who also help to take care of her?” Tila told The Blast. 

Netizens had expressed concern for Isabella after Tila posted a picture of the child dressed up as Hitler. Nevertheless, the court found her competent to take care of Isabella. 

Tila and her mystery husband married in early 2018. The couple welcomed their daughter, Annabelle, in August 2018. 

Before Casey Johnson, there was NFL star Shawne Merriman. The relationship ended so badly that Tila attempted suicide. Thankfully, she looked happy alongside Casey Johnson, who proposed to Tila after one date. 

Unfortunately, Casey and Tila’s whirlwind romance ended after Johnson passed away in early 2010. Following Casey’s death, Tila claimed that she got pregnant for Casey, telling RadarOnline:

“So that is the reason why I got pregnant. It was for Casey and I, and that is also why I was so devastated when she passed away because now I have our baby in my belly, but she has passed away.”

Per her publicist, the pregnancy ended due to ‘medical complications.’ Tequila then hinted at possible suicide by posting a video of her bloody wrist. Tila checked into a psychological facility after her suicide attempt turned out to be fake. 

Yet, for all the pain Casey’s death seemingly caused Tila, she later confessed that she was never really lesbian. “She’s made out with some girls in her past, as all girls have, but she is not bi at all,” an insider told Page Six in 2007. Via a 2018 YouTube video, Tila confirmed the source’s claim:

“As a matter of fact, I was never bisexual. The truth comes out. I was never a lesbian, I was never gay. It was gay for pay. When I was filming the reality show, I had a boyfriend for the entire two seasons.”

In January 2011, a porn company released Tila’s sex tape, in which she appeared with two women. In March 2012, Tila checked into rehab after overdosing on a heavy prescription drug. A source explained:

“Tila threw up all over her bed after overdosing and felt like she was dying. She was screaming for help, and in desperation, broke her bedroom window and attempted to jump out.”

Tequila laid low for several months after completing her rehab in April 2012. She reemerged on social media with bold claims about having superhuman powers and knowing how late actor Paul Walker passed away. 

In 2012, Tila Tequila told TMZ that she would love to convert to Judaism: “I just feel like the Jewish people have such a beautiful way about them, and I can’t wait to officially be Jewish!” Either her views about Jews changed, or she was flat out lying. 

In December 2013, she posted a photo-shopped picture of herself standing in front of Auschwitz with an SS cap and a Nazi armband. She dubbed herself ‘Hitila’ and defended Hitler via a blog post titled Why I Sympathize with Hitler: Part 1. 

In Tequila’s opinion, Hitler was ‘not a bad person as they have painted him out to be.” Tila’s shocking post came back to haunt her as it contributed to her expulsion from Celebrity Big Brother in 2015. Tequila apologized via Facebook, blaming her tirade on ‘depression’ and ‘drug addiction.’ 

“I am in no way, shape or form a racist nor anti-Semitic and absolutely not 100% a Nazi supporter,” Tequila wrote. Perhaps expectedly, Tila resumed her anti-Semitic ways. She wished Hitler a happy birthday and posted photo-shopped images of herself in Nazi uniform. 

She also joined the alt-right movement and declared herself a supporter of Donald Trump. “Seig Heil,” she captioned a photo of herself saluting Nazi-style. The post contributed to her expulsion from Twitter. 

The confessed ‘Aryan Goddess’ promoted the hashtag #AryanLivesMatter and defended President Trump for bragging about grabbing women by the pussy. “Women who complain about Trump saying ‘Grab her by the pussy!’ are retards because I love getting grabbed by the pussy! LMAO!” Tila tweeted. 

It’s unclear whether Tila is still anti-Semitic. She claims to be a born-again Christian, though her content makes many question the values that guide her religion. In a video supposedly explaining why God chose her, Tila compared herself to Jesus:

“And that’s why my whole life, the enemy has tried to kill me. Just like before Jesus was born… they were trying to hunt him down his whole life. So the same has happened to me, but then I realized that it’s not because of anything other than I have been chosen before the other foundations of the world.”
