Who is Sofia Carson dating? Her secretive love life

Sofia Carson is a singer and actress who rose to fame via Disney. She starred in Austin & Ally and the Descendants films; however, the appearances weren’t enough to earn her global recognition. Carson is now set to become a household name following her performance as Cassie in Netflix’s romantic film Purple Hearts. 

In the film, Cassie, a singer-songwriter, and Luke, an aspiring Marine, wed to receive military funds given to married couples. The wedding of convenience takes a turn when Luke is injured in battle, forcing his ‘wife’ to grudgingly care for him. 

Sofia Carson’s dating life is a lot less dramatic than Cassie’s. 

As far as we can tell, Sofia Carson is single. She shares very little about her love life but did reveal that her priority is career progression. 

“For now, It’s easier to focus on work and friends,” Carson told Cosmopolitan in 2019. “I’m dating my career. I’m sure you are as well.” 

Sofia said it’s a bit harder for her to find a lover because she vowed not to date in the entertainment industry. She said:

“I’ve never tried dating apps. I made a decision about two years ago that I don’t want to date anyone in the [entertainment] business. So as you can imagine, that makes it a little bit difficult.”

In 2016, Sofia Carson was linked with Manolo Gonzales, Sofia Vergara’s son, after posting a picture of the pair hugging. Two years later, Manolo posted a video of him holding Sofia while doing squats. 

Neither party talked about the relationship. Carson told Extra in early 2022 that she intentionally keeps her personal life away from the public:

“To me, it’s about my art and the music and the films that I put out into the world and not about my personal life. I still do love sharing personal moments that are special to me with fans, but it was definitely a choice to keep my private life private because it’s not what this is about for me. It’s about more than that.”
