Katylee Bailey is a British social media star who first gained fame on the Musical.ly app. After the platform shut down, Bailey moved to TikTok, where she is close to reaching the 1 million followers mark. Bailey posts a variety of content, including dance and comedy videos.
She collaborates frequently with her girlfriend and fellow social media star Libby-Mae. Libby’s social media fame came later than Katylee’s, but she is doing quite well. She has over 740K followers on TikTok and a further 87.5K on Instagram. Katylee and Libby-Mae also run a YouTube channel, which currently has 41.4K subscribers.

At the age of 13, Libby came out as gay to her best friend. Libby’s best friend suspected that Libby might not be straight because Libby couldn’t hide her attraction to another girl at the school. Libby kept her sexuality hidden from her parents for three years before she came out to her mom. Mae’s mom had no objection, but she dismissed the confession as a phase.
“It was something like, ‘Mom, I’m gay,’” Libby stated in a YouTube video titled Our Coming out Story. “And I was like, ‘I’ve been wanting to tell you for such a long time, but I’ve been so scared of what you’d think.’ Every parent says, ‘It’s a phase.’” Libby’s mom thought that Mae was simply going through an insecure phase that would pass by with time.
Mae’s dad knows that she is a lesbian, but she’s never officially come out to him. She joked that it will take her another three years to gather the courage she needs to utter those words. Katylee came out to her mom at around the same age as Libby, but by the time she did, her mom already knew.
Katylee roused suspicion about her bi-sexuality when she started hanging around queer crowds. Her mom had also noticed that she hang around girls a lot during parties. Like Libby’s mom, Katylee’s mother dismissed the confession as a passing phase. The duo’s parents only realized the truth behind the admissions when Katylee and Libby got into a serious relationship.
Libby and Katylee opine that parents should take their children seriously when they come out. “I feel like parents never actually believe you, especially when you are younger,” the couple said. “My mom definitely believes us now.”
Katylee and Libby have a solid relationship, and they believe that they will get married. They revealed in an October 2020 Q&A video that they plan to wed in a foreign country during one of their future travels. The pair also wants kids, but they won’t commit to family life until they feel ready. For now, the 18-year-olds are happy with the progress of their relationship. On New Year’s Day 2021, Mae posted a series of couply photos on Instagram alongside the following caption:
